Accountabilities

  • Gather and define system requirements; Plan software development activities; Provide technical leadership of onshore and offshore software development teams.
  • Build tools and design processes that help improve enterprise level observability, system resiliency, security and scalability of our critical services and platforms.
  • Responsible for technical activities associated with orchestration and cloud resources, including development, design, planning, management, maintenance, and support.
  • Develop standards in partnership with Information Assurance, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development.
  • Assist with design, implementation, and maintenance of Red Hat and CentOS systems in an R&D environment.
  • Deploy and support applications into Kubernetes-based environments, both on-prem and cloud.

Qualifications - Required

  • A bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Will accept three- or four-year degrees.
  • 10 years’ experience in software/systems development or a related occupation.
  • 10 years’ experience in using Python and Bash for system automation.
  • 10 plus years’ experience supporting production distributed systems, specifically containerized web applications, in a mission-critical 24x7 operating environment.
  • 6 years’ experience utilizing DevOps and specifically TerraForm for cloud automation.
  • 5 years’ experience in using Ansible for process automation.
  • 4 years’ experience supporting Kubernetes and Docker, including deployment of resources, writing Kubernetes manifests and creating helm charts.
  • Certification for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Hands-on experience working with the Linux OS, including but not limited to CentOS and RHEL.
  • Experience working in an Agile framework leveraging JIRA.
  • Experience with micro-services and containerization.
  • Experience developing and operating end-to-end automated solutions for IT operations activities (including deployment, release management, monitoring, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integrations Tools such as Jenkins, Fisheye Crucible, or others.
  • Knowledge of networking principles including load balancers, routing, VPCs and ACI (e.g. AWS or Azure).
  • Must pass background check investigation and medical review.
