Description

Seeking an experienced operational analyst to join our fast-paced team on the Operations team in the Technology department. This position will serve as a process engineering role, whose primary focus is to increase yard productivity through the careful study of rail yard processes and technology solutions. This process engineering position will leverage various modeling techniques to optimize existing processes and define technology solutions to improve our business product. The candidate must be self-motivated, organized and have demonstrated experience participating in top performing teams. 

Accountabilities

•    Evaluate rail yard operations to document existing processes and procedures
•    Ability to conduct independent research to support personal knowledge base
•    Work with cross functional teams to develop requirements for technology solutions to support business needs
•    Lead discussions to break down business processes and recommendations for solution options to improve operations

 

Qualifications - Required

•    Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Education
•    7 or more years of experience in industrial engineering principles
•    Experience in successfully influencing the direction of a team by constructively resolving conflicts
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Qualifications - Preferred

•    Experience with rail operations in a terminal environment and mainline operations
•    Knowledge of rail industry regulations
•    Experience with modeling and simulation software for analysis and solution recommendations
•    Demonstrated ability to understand modern technologies and how they can influence manual processes
