Description
This is a technical position and an individual contributor role that will work with other team members and business partners to ensure success with SAP at Union Pacific. The main elements of the role include: 1) No direct reports, 2) Heavy technical skills, 3) Vendor relationship management, 4) Moderate client/customer contact, 5) Heavy daily planning and execution, 6) Creativity & Innovation. The senior systems engineer is responsible for daily planning and execution, frequent client/customer contact, developed technical skills, and creativity. They must possess excellent team working abilities to ensure a project's success.
Accountabilities
• Deliver cross-functional solutions through program execution for our Finance S4 platform.
• Drive, configure and enable standardization with SAP S4 FICO solution including master data, transactional functionality, RICEFW
• Leading the design, development, test, and production of SW tools/applications including application integrations between software tools
• Implementing best practices for developing maintainable production ready environment in S4 and connected software products
• Performing application configuration changes to realize the software/process vision you and the team have created.
• Generating and managing product roadmaps/project plans that define and communicate and deliver on the future projected system/business capabilities.
• Aid in preparing material and/or updates for senior leaders on new technology, delivery status, outcomes, measures, etc. provide clear and concise updates in meaningful business terms.
• Coordinating and collaborating across multi-discipline/multi-organizational teams to understand key aspects of various subsystems, safety/audit requirements, and operational requirements.
• Managing daily operations required to support customer needs (change control, support tickets, user training, etc.)
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive software documentation including, but not limited to software requirements, software user guides, and software test plans.
• Ensures technical delivery with current standards and reduction of technical debt for a series of Product Line(s).
• Ensure critical assets and business features have the appropriate alerts, alarms, and support. Shared responsibility for outcomes of changes to any deliverables implemented in Production.
Qualifications - Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience of 10 or more years of relevant technical experience; higher education may substitute for relevant experience.
- Deep functional expertise in implementing and supporting solutions in SAP S4 Finance (FICO), Project Accounting, Payroll, fixed assets, tax, and Financial Statement Reporting, and Financial close process.
- Proficient in functional and technical knowledge of integration of the FI-CO module with other SAP S4 modules along with external applications.
Qualifications - Preferred
- SAP S/4HANA Finance - Financial Accounting consultant certification
- SAP S/4HANA Finance - Financial and Management Accounting - Upskilling for SAP ERP Financials Experts certification
