Description

Union Pacific Railroad Company is looking to fill an Associate Project Engineer position in Omaha, NE. May telecommute up to 50% of work time.

Accountabilities

  • Assist application development teams through support tickets and troubleshooting.
  • Estimate and manage projects for timely completion.
  • Provide ongoing systems assistance and support to quickly restore failures.
  • Ensure key components of the products developed are well-documented.
  • Understand and integrate solutions across different systems to provide a seamless look to the customer.
  • Effectively manage work time and deliver a quality product on time.
  • Communicate effectively with both customers and team members.
  • Exhibit subject-matter expertise of at least one business process and be able to explain how their contributions fit within it.
  • Provide information and analysis as well as advice and counsel for decision makers.

Qualifications - Required

  • Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in information technology, management information systems, or a related field of study.
  • 1 year of experience in application/system support/development or a related occupation.
  • Familiarity with Scrum & utilize Agile development practices – sprint planning, backlog grooming, etc.
  • Knowledge of systems analysis, requirement gathering, and solutions design.
  • Proficiency & Knowledge in database and in programming such as SQL.
  • Ability/Knowledge of writing detailed test plans and executions of those plans.
  • Proficiency or ability to create & read technical diagrams.
  • Understand and integrate solutions across different systems to provide a seamless look to the customer.
  • Must pass background check investigation and medical review.
