Description
General janitorial tasks, such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, waxing floors, washing walls, and cleaning public rest rooms and offices. Will be required to operate mechanical janitorial equipment.
Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and/or customers and effectively handle conflict situations
- Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications - Required
- Ability to speak English in a clear, concise manner to communicate with coworker(s) and supervisor(s)
- Able to read and comprehend regulations and instructions as well as possess good verbal communication skills
- All applicants must have reached the age of 18 or above

Physical and Mental Job Requirements
- Lift, carry, or otherwise move weights of up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Conditions
- Union Pacific runs 24/7. This role may require working different shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Work occurs indoors and outdoors in all weather
- Prepared to work in settings that operate shop equipment like forklifts and cranes.
- Comfortable wearing personal protective gear for most of the day
- Follow safety protocols and practices.
- Prepared to work in settings that involve large equipment such as railcars, locomotives, and cranes.
