Employees who live and work in the Omaha area, where the Union Pacific is headquartered, may want to take advantage of the following benefits.

Parking and Alternative Transportation Information

For employees working at the Union Pacific Center (UPC) in downtown Omaha, a number of parking garages and lots have daily and monthly spaces available. Union Pacific employees are responsible for setting up their own parking.

The first month’s parking fee is typically made by the employee directly to the garage or lot management company. Employees have the option to utilize a Transportation Spending Account (TSA) program through WageWorks™ to make payments for subsequent months.

The Omaha Park Eight garage is connected to the Union Pacific Center via an underground tunnel. Non-reserved parking spaces in Omaha Park Eight are available, for a monthly fee, to UP employees for parking weekdays 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., CT.

Parking is subject to availability. Passes and payment for Omaha Park Eight are handled by Central Parking. For contracts, rules and availability, contact Central Parking directly by calling 402-345-7122, ext. 10.

For employees working at the Union Pacific Center in downtown Omaha, the Omaha's Metropolitan Area Transit (MAT) has a downtown circulator route for employees who are interested in taking the bus to work. Visit for more information and routes.


Employees and their spouses or domestic partners are invited to use the on-site fitness facility at the Union Pacific Center free of charge. The fitness center is open Monday – Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., CT. The center has freemotion weight training machines, free weights, cardio equipment and group classes. Twenty-four hour access is available to locker rooms and cardio equipment.


The Guckenheimer restaurant and catering services are available at the Union Pacific Center serving breakfast 6:30 to 9:30 a.m., lunch 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and coffee bar 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., CT. Guckenheimer focuses on offering nutritious meal options utilizing seasonal, local and organic produce and meat.

Child/Elder Care

In the Omaha area, Union Pacific offers a Child Development Center. The center is managed by Bright Horizons Family Solutions and is located at 1408 California St. Omaha, NE 68102.

Also, in the Omaha area, an emergency dependent care service, Rest Easy, is available to nonagreement employees through the Visiting Nurse Association. Rest Easy is a service that is available for unexpected, short-term dependent child or adult care, when an employee needs to be at work. Rest Easy can help when a dependent is mildly sick, a childcare provider is not available or when school or day care is closed.
