Imagine a shopping trip with 7,000 stops and a $6 billion budget, and you will begin to understand the scope of what we do. As a part of the Supply team, your job will be to buy the railroad everything it needs. Everything. Locomotive, office supplies, computers, freight cars. The decisions you make every day will have a direct and immediate impact on the company’s finances.
You will start as a Supply Analyst, working with other departments to understand what they need, and then going out and finding the best ways to meet those needs. You will research cost and quality, make suggestions and set long-term buying strategies. You will use the latest supply-chain processes, information systems and transportation logistics to manage 16 warehouses and more than $500 million in inventory.
- Business, supply chain, finance, accounting, transportation logistics or warehouse operations degrees and experience.
- You must be an analytical thinker and problem-solver.
- Confident communicator and a team player with leadership skills.
