Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
Overview
Union Pacific provides company-paid Core Employee Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance and the opportunity to elect employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D insurance.
Core Life and AD&D Insurance
Nonagreement employees are provided with Core Life and AD&D coverage equal to one times annual base salary up to a maximum of $50,000. This Core coverage is paid for by Union Pacific.
Voluntary Life Insurance
Nonagreement employees may elect Voluntary Life coverage and pay the associated premium through convenient payroll deductions.
- Voluntary Employee Life coverage from one to eight times the employee’s annual base salary up to a maximum of $2,950,000.
- Voluntary Spouse Life coverage from one-half to four times the employee's annual base salary up to a maximum of $500,000 or if lesser, one-half the employee's combined Core and Voluntary coverage.
- Voluntary Child(ren) Life coverage is offered at either $5,000 or $10,000 for each child.
Voluntary AD&D Insurance
Nonagreement employees may elect Voluntary AD&D coverage and pay the associated premium through convenient payroll deductions.
- Voluntary Employee AD&D coverage from one to eight times the employee's annual base salary up to a maximum of $2,950,000.
- Voluntary Dependent AD&D coverage as follows:
- Spouse Only - coverage equal to 60 percent of employee's Voluntary AD&D coverage up to a maximum of $250,000
- Child(ren) Only - coverage equal to 20 percent of employee's Voluntary AD&D coverage up to a maximum of $25,000
- Spouse and Child(ren) - spouse coverage equal to 50 percent of employee's Voluntary AD&D coverage up to a maximum of $250,000 and child(ren) coverage equal to 15 percent of employee's Voluntary AD&D coverage up to a maximum of $25,000
