Employee development contributes to the success of Union Pacific. Therefore, company programs and training are designed to help employees develop important skill sets which can lead to future career opportunities.
The Educational Assistance Program is offered by the company to encourage growth and development of employee skills, abilities and knowledge. It assists eligible employees in obtaining academic training on a vocational and college level.
To take advantage of this benefit, an individual must be an employee who has at least six months of employment at the time classes begin and the degree must be approved through a formal application process.
Upon approval of the degree, employees may be reimbursed for 100 percent of tuition up to a maximum of $5,250 per calendar year. There is no reimbursement for required books or fees. Courses reimbursable for college credit must be completed at an accredited school.
Applicants will be asked to acknowledge their obligation with respect to the Employee Reimbursement Agreement to retain their employment for two years after the receipt of any reimbursement under this program.
